CHOOSING AN INTERVENTION

Autism does not have a ‘cure’. There are still no medicines to ‘remove’ autism. However, there are strategies that can help individuals with autism learn and function efficiently. Deciding the correct intervention for an individual with autism can be confusing and sometimes overwhelming since there are so many options to choose from; individual opinions and experiences, as well as different research highlighting varied results. We are all aware that not all interventions produce glorious results that are sometimes promised or advertised. In fact some interventions can be harmful and potentially dangerous for individuals with autism.
