TRAININGS
Persons with autism benefit most when taught with the use of autism-specific techniques, by a teacher with comprehensive insight into autism. Therefore, disseminating information and providing autism specific training has always been a priority at AFA.
We are working towards a future where every individual diagnosed in India has access to intervention and skills training that will help him/her achieve his/her fullest potential, by ensuring there is an every growing body of trained professionals delivering effective autism-specific intervention.
We offer a range of practical hands-on training opportunities throughout the year. The duration of the trainings range from a few hours, to two years or more, and is open to everyone, including parents, professionals or students. All programmes are based on a deep understanding and sensitivity of the entire autism spectrum, and its varied manifestation across the lifespan.
Bachelor of Education-Special Education (Autism Spectrum Disorders) (B Ed Sp Ed ASD)
This is a two year, full time, on-site degree programme recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and run at Action For Autism in affiliation with the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU).
This is an ideal training programme for those interested in pursuing a career in special needs with a specialization in Autism Spectrum Conditions. Upon successful completion of the programme, the candidates are certified Special Educators and can work as Special Educators in leading schools - special or mainstream, special needs organizations, or as independent consultants as well as seek employment in the government sector. Diploma in Education–Special Education (Autism Spectrum Disorders) (D Ed Sp Ed ASD)
This two–year, full time diploma programme is recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) to train special educators in autism. Through extensive practical hands-on training and lectures, on successful completion of the course, a trainee is certified as a special educator for autism. These candidates receive placements in leadings schools and special needs organisations, and many have been absorbed within AFA.Read More

AFA conducts and facilitates practical and interactive training workshops for parents and professionals in various aspects of autism spectrum disorders and its manifestations, teaching techniques and intervention strategies, as well as those that address the different concerns of individuals with autism and their families.Read More
Customised Trainings
Taking into consideration the needs and interests of the person wishing to be trained, we customize training modules to maximize the time spent at AFA.
Some of these modules may include supervised ‘hands-on’ observations in our model programmes.
